Anna Bloom manages schedules, purchasing, travel coordination, and events management for Professors Alfredo Alexander-Katz, Rafael Gómez-Bombarelli, Cem Tasan, and Gregory Olson. She’s also generally in charge of helping the groups stay organized. Before starting at DMSE in 2022, she was a law student and a retail worker. Before that, she was the communications assistant at the Russian and East European Institute at Indiana University Bloomington campus, where she led various outreach campaigns, organized online conferences during the covid-19 pandemic, as well as fulfilled many of the roles she has now at MIT. She has an MA in Russian and East European studies with a focus on international ethics and decision-making, specifically focused on Poland. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, hiking, reading, and writing while spending time with her two dogs and her cat.
