Biography
André Obin manages DMSE’s Human Resources team, handling hiring, promotions, onboarding, and offboarding for DMSE’s employees. He ensures that the department is in compliance with MIT’s policies and procedures and is a key voice to uphold DMSE’s mission through operation strategy and workforce planning. Obin was recognized for his work when he received the School of Engineering’s Infinite Mile Award in 2023 in the category of excellence.
Obin has 20 years of various professional experience in higher education, travel, music, and finance. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electroacoustic composition from Wheaton College, where he graduated summa cum laude and was selected to Phi Beta Kappa in recognition of high attainments in liberal scholarship. His fervor for knowledge was strengthened while at Wadham College at Oxford University, where he concentrated on the history and philosophy of science. Outside of MIT, Obin is active in the Boston and international electronic music scene.
