Student Awards Nomination

DMSE invites nominations for our annual student awards celebrating achievements from the academic year 2025-2026.

All nominations including letters and other nomination materials (if applicable) must be submitted by 5:00pm on Monday, May 4, 2026. Nominations are reviewed and awards determined by the DMSE Undergraduate Committee and the Departmental Committee on Graduate Studies.

Students who graduated in September 2025 and February 2026 are eligible to be nominated for awards, as well as students who plan to graduate in June 2026. Teaching awards focus on subjects taught in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.

Nomination Form

For most of the award nominations, simply fill out and submit the nomination form below.

If nominating someone for the Best Paper Award, the following materials are required

  • Nomination form
  • Letter from faculty member

If nominating someone for the Best Doctoral Thesis Award, the following materials are required:

  • Nomination form
  • Statement from the student describing the thesis
  • Letter from the thesis advisors
  • Additional letter from a thesis committee member
