Biography

Allison Kaczmarek provides direct support for the DMSE community in preparing research proposals, fellowship applications, and other scientific communications and strategic materials that contribute to the department’s overall scientific vision and mission. She earned B.S. degrees in chemistry and in materials science and engineering from Clemson University in 2020. At MIT, she studied magnetic anisotropy and cation ordering in iron garnet thin films under Professors Caroline Ross and Geoffrey Beach, completing her PhD in DMSE in 2025. Allison has served as a teaching assistant for both graduate and undergraduate core courses and brings expertise in scientific writing and communication.
