Why does NASA need materials scientists for superconducting quantum devices?

What are superconducting and quantum devices? Why are NASA and Jet Propulsion Laboratory interested in them? What are the bottlenecks and how can we overcome them? In this seminar, I will give examples of major materials bottlenecks and explain how different materials scientists can help build quantum limited detectors, superconducting circuit components, and scalable qubits.
