Erin Caples

Biography

Erin Caples joined DMSE in the fall of 2023. In this role, she leads departmental operations with a focus on administrative and financial efficiency, covering areas such as human resources, faculty affairs, finance, academic administration, events planning, facilities, communications, and research. Previously, she was the director of operations and finance for the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, where in addition to managing general operations, Caples also served as the college’s master’s co-op coordinator, director of summer camp initiatives, capstone coordinator, and student ambassador advisor. Earlier in her career, she built a foundation in operations and finance through roles in health care finance, grantwriting, community health and wellness, and workforce development.
 
Caples earned a BS in economics, an MA in community social psychology, and a grad certificate in domestic violence prevention from UMass Lowell. She is also a certified mental health first aider through the National Council on Mental Health and Wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys adventures with her family and can be found running, reading, and camping in New Hampshire. Caples can also be found in the dojo or on the soccer field cheering her daughters to victory.
