The Boston Globe has named Professor Yet-Ming Chiang a 2025 Tech Power Player in the energy sector—his third time on the list. A pioneer in advanced materials for energy storage, Chiang co-founded Form Energy, which builds iron-based batteries for renewable energy, and 24M Technologies, which develops lower-cost lithium-ion batteries to extend electric-vehicle range. He also helped launch Sublime Systems, which uses electricity instead of fossil fuels to make low-carbon cement.

Also named to the list is DMSE alumna Shreya Dave, CEO of ViaSeparations, a startup she co-founded with Professor Jeffrey Grossman. ViaSeparations uses membrane technology to separate chemicals, an important step in manufacturing goods, saving energy and resources in the process.
