The DMSE Digest has news about DMSE faculty, students, postdocs, and staff; stories about research and media mentions; and department and Institute events. DMSE Digest: Frontiers is a quarterly publication that seeks to reconnect with alumni and forge ties with friends of the department.

Two DMSE staff members received MIT honors: Laura von Bosau received the MIT Excellence Award for Outstanding Contributor, and Mike Coniglione received the Infinite Mile Award. Also in this issue are highlights from the department’s Commencement Reception and awards, new Kavanaugh Fellows pursuing promising technologies, and the newly elected leaders of the Society of Undergraduate Materials Scientists and the Graduate Materials Council.
