Prof. Flemings’ long career of research has had as its main focus the solidification of metals, and to a lesser extent solidification of ceramics, semiconductors and superconductors. His work continues to have broad industrial application, particularly in the foundry and metal producing industries. His current and recent studies are on semi-solid processing.
