Dreyfus Machine Learning in the Chemical Sciences & Engineering Award

Rafa Gomez-Bombarelli, Jeffrey Cheah Career Development Professor in Materials Science and Engineering, is a recipient of the 2021 Machine Learning in the Chemical Sciences & Engineering Awards, presented by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.

The Dreyfus program for Machine Learning in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering provides funding for innovative projects in any area of Machine Learning (ML) that meets the Foundations’s goals of advancing the chemical sciences and engineering. The program was launched in 2020 and is open to academic institutions offering undergraduate or graduate degrees in chemical sciences. Prof. Gomez-Bombarelli received funding for "Adversarial Attacks on Interatomic Potentials for Active Learning and Inverse Design."
