Biography
Bizi Kayumbi oversees the Department of Material Science and Engineering financial and research operations with responsibilities around the development, review, and submission of budgets and grant proposals, as well as tracking and monitoring the financial performance of grants to ensure compliance to MIT and sponsors guidelines. Before starting in the department in March 2023, he worked in several areas of investment banking risk analytics services where he participated in the bank’s decision-making process for risk management. He enjoys activities such as soccer and language learning, and has recently come to enjoy other activities such as yoga and meditation since becoming vegan in 2021. Bizi has a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Northeastern University.
