Funding

DMSE's research in NanoTechnology has been funded through a variety of agencies and sponsors. Two notable projects are

• Hybrid active FSMA/polymer micro-composites and electrostrictors: Engineering FSMA-based actuators for Navy applications in Dr. Robert C. O'Handley's group. This is a MURI program funded by the Office of Naval Research.
• Damage and Failure Resistant Nanostructures in Prof. Subra Suresh's group. This is a DURINT project funded by the Office of Naval Research.
