Professor Tasan is making his mark as MIT's newest metallurgy specialist

Professor C. Cem Tasan of DMSE, along with a team of researchers, are exploring the possibilities hidden within high-entropy alloys (HEAs), which are materials consisting of multiple types of metal in equal parts. HEAs have a history of instability and dissonance, resulting in materials that fracture easily, but Prof Tasan thinks he and his team may have found ways to bypass their usual weaknesses, and create metal with more strength and ductility than anything that exists currently. Read the full article here
