DMSE adds a few familiar faces to Forbes 30 Under 30.
Brent Keller, who is part of Jeff Grossman's group, was listed as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for Manufacturing and Industry for co-founding Via Separations.
Keller is cofounder and CTO of Via Separations, which develops membrane materials for separation processes. Separations are a capital-intensive part of chemical manufacturing, and the company's membranes can reduce costs while improving performance. Keller and three older cofounders are now part of MIT's The Engine accelerator program.
Ritchie Chen, who is part of Polina Anikeeva's group, was listed as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for Science for his work in developing a method for non-invasive brain stimulation.
Patients with severe neurological conditions, such as Parkinson's, who do not respond to drug treatments are sometimes treated with electrical deep brain stimulation which involves invasive surgery. Chen's research found that dysfunctional brain regions could be stimulated by metal nanoparticles powered by magnetic fields without having to invasively implant wires.
